Questions and answers

Everything buyers ask us before they order

How quoting works, what to send so the first price is the right one, and what happens between the enquiry and the equipment arriving on site.

Quotes and ordering

How pricing works here, and what to send so the first quote is the right one.

How do I get a price?

Send us the part number, a drawing, or a photograph of the nameplate, through the contact form, by email or on WhatsApp. We confirm the specification, availability and pricing, usually within one business day.

If anything about the application is unclear we ask before quoting rather than guessing, because a quote against the wrong specification wastes more time than the question does.

Why are there no prices on the website?

Because almost nothing here has one fixed price. What an item costs depends on the specification, the quantity and the delivery schedule, and the same catalogue number can be built several different ways.

Publishing a single figure would mean publishing one that is wrong for most buyers. Every product page says price on request for that reason, and a real quote comes back against your actual requirement.

Can I ask about several items in one go?

Yes, and it is the easier way to do it. Add each product to your quote list as you browse the catalogue, then send the whole list as a single enquiry.

We come back with availability, lead time and pricing for every line, so a shutdown list does not turn into twenty separate email threads.

What information helps you quote accurately?

The more you can tell us about the operating conditions, the sooner we can come back with something firm. Pressure and temperature ranges, connection sizes, materials and any hazardous area classification all help.

If you have the old part, a photograph of the nameplate is often enough on its own.

What if what I need is not in your catalogue?

Ask anyway. The catalogue is what we hold and list, not the limit of what we supply.

Where an item is not stocked we go to our manufacturer network and come back with options, certified equivalents where they exist, and lead times broken into manufacturing, shipping and clearance rather than quoted as one optimistic date.

Can you supply an equivalent if the original is discontinued?

Usually. We work from the operating conditions rather than from the part description alone, which is what makes a like for like substitution possible in the first place.

We will tell you what differs between the original and the alternative, so the decision is yours rather than a surprise on site.

What we supply

The range, the brands behind it, and the equipment that needs a certificate.

What does Petrofab supply?

Instrumentation and pneumatics, pressure gauges, thermometers, transmitters and thermowells, electrical and control equipment, valves and fittings, drilling equipment, compressors, cabling systems, EOT crane parts, heavy and road equipment parts, rugged hazardous area devices, and our own line of lubricants and greases.

That is 344 products across 61 categories in the catalogue, and more through the sourcing network behind it.

Which brands do you carry?

Winters, Trerice, Brannan, Tisco, Watts, B Meter, Watson McDaniel, Pune Techtrol, Aquatrol and Castle are all represented in the catalogue, across gauges, thermometers, valves, fittings, water meters and level instruments.

Lubricants and greases are our own line, manufactured under the Petrofab name.

Do you supply equipment for hazardous areas?

Yes. The rugged smartphone and tablet range is built for classified areas, with intrinsically safe models and versions certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2, rated IP68 and IP69K, and available with multi gas detection built in.

Spark arrestors are available in stainless steel and ATEX approved versions. Explosion proof options exist across parts of the crane festoon and pendant range too.

Tell us the zone, the gas group and the temperature class with your enquiry, and we will check the certificate covers your case before quoting.

Do you sell to individuals, or only to companies?

Petrofab works business to business, supplying plants, contractors and equipment owners across Qatar.

Enquiries go through the same route either way: send the requirement and we will tell you what we can do.

Specification and technical help

The part of the job that happens before anything is ordered.

Can you help me choose between two variants?

That is a normal part of the work, not an extra. We help with choosing between variants, checking that a hazardous area certificate covers your zone and ambient range, and confirming a connection standard.

Most procurement delays come from the wrong part being specified rather than from shipping, so the checking happens before the quotation goes out.

My gauges keep failing on a vibrating line. What are my options?

Vibration and pulsation are the usual reason a gauge dies early, and the fix is normally a change of fill, movement or mounting rather than simply a stronger gauge.

There is an article on selecting a pressure gauge for high vibration applications in our resources section, and we are happy to look at the specific line with you.

Do you support installation and calibration on site?

Yes, where the equipment needs it. Delivery across Qatar is coordinated with on site technical support for installation and calibration, so equipment goes back into service without a second mobilisation.

Wire rope systems are installed and calibrated on site by trained technicians, and tower cranes are erected, climbed and dismantled around the site programme.

What happens after delivery?

Support on installation, calibration and the spares that keep the asset available, for as long as the equipment is in service.

Repeat supply is part of the same relationship rather than a new enquiry each time.

Delivery and coverage

Where we are, where we deliver, and how lead times are quoted.

Do you deliver across Qatar?

Yes. Delivery is coordinated across Qatar from our office in Doha, at Souq Al Nayef, Building 43, Zone 56.

We work the same hours as your plant, which matters when a line is down and the answer cannot wait for the next working week.

How are lead times quoted?

Split into manufacturing, shipping and clearance, rather than given as one date that hides where the risk sits.

That way you can see which part of the chain is the constraint and plan the shutdown around it. There is an article on equipment lead times in Qatar in our resources section that goes into this properly.

Which industries do you work with?

Oil and gas, petrochemical, power and energy, manufacturing, infrastructure and heavy industry.

The common thread is that an unavailable spare costs more than the spare does.

Working with us

Who to talk to and how quickly you will hear back.

What is the fastest way to reach you?

WhatsApp, usually, especially when a line is down. Phone and email reach the same team.

Call +974 6687 4510 or +974 3383 5338, or write to info@petrofabservices.com.

What are your hours?

Qatar business hours, and answered outside them for urgent requirements.

Being based in Doha rather than several time zones away is the point: your morning is our morning.

Can I visit your office?

Yes. We are at Souq Al Nayef, Building 43, Zone 56, Street 100, Entrance 6, 1st Floor, Office No B136, Doha.

Call ahead so the right person is there for what you need to discuss.

What happens to the details I send through the form?

They go to our sales inbox by email and are used to answer your enquiry. The website itself does not keep a copy, and nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.

Products you add to a quote list stay in your own browser until you choose to send them. The privacy policy sets all of this out.

Still not answered?

Ask us directly. Send a part number, a drawing or a description of the application and we will come back with specification, availability and price, usually within one business day.
