Overview

FAG is the older of the two German bearing names now inside the Schaeffler group, the other being INA. It is heavily specified in European machinery, in electric motors and in heavy plant.

Reading a FAG number

FAG codes the seal, the cage and the clearance separately, usually with a full stop between them. These are the codes on the FAG bearings we hold.

2RSR	Seals on both sides
2ZR	Shields on both sides
C3	Internal clearance greater than normal
TVH	Glass fibre reinforced polyamide cage, ball guided
MPA	Machined brass cage
QJ	Four point contact ball bearing, which takes axial load in both directions in a single row
N2	Two locating slots in the outer ring

A bearing usually has an equivalent under another brand, and the letters are where the two differ. Send whichever number is in front of you and we will identify what fits.

Ordering

Send us the FAG number with the quantity. If the marking has worn off, send the bore, the outside diameter and the width, and tell us what it runs in and how hard it works. We will identify the equivalent and quote it. Quantities and delivery are confirmed on the quotation.
