With over 40 years of expertise, American Block leads the industry in the design and manufacture of wire rope sheaves. Our sheaves range from 20″ to 120″ in diameter and accommodate any wire rope size.
Sheave bores can be customized for roller bearings, bushings, snap rings, or special designs. Our welded sheaves feature forged rings for superior durability and full penetration welds between the web and hub for maximum strength. Sheave grooves are flame-hardened to a 35 RC minimum, ensuring extended wear resistance.
For specialized needs, we offer custom-designed sheaves, with features easily adjustable to meet customer specifications. Sheave assemblies are available with bearings, bushings, seals, snap rings, and cover plates as installed options. We manufacture to API 8C standards, and third-party certifications like ABS or DNV are available upon request.
