Services

Tower and EOT crane services

Erection, climbing and dismantling of tower cranes coordinated around the site programme, and the overhead crane accessories that decide whether a machine is available on the morning it is needed.

Two different jobs sit under one heading here, and both of them are about availability. Tower crane work is a programme problem: erection, climbing and dismantling have to land in the right week, or the rest of the site waits on them. We coordinate around the programme rather than around our own calendar.

Overhead travelling cranes fail somewhere else entirely. They almost never fail on their structure. They fail on the accessories, the festoon system, the limit switch, the brake, the pendant, the hook block, and those are the parts that decide whether a crane works on the morning it is needed.

Holding the few accessories that fail predictably is the cheapest insurance on a crane, because the cost of an overhead crane being down is never the price of the part.

What this covers

  • Work sequenced around the site programme
  • Festoon systems and current collection
  • Pendant controls and limit switches

  • Hook blocks and lifting accessories

What shapes this work

The date is part of the specification

Crane work scheduled late is paid for twice, once in the work itself and once in the trades standing waiting on it. Programme fit belongs in the enquiry alongside the technical detail.

The accessories are the failure points

Structure rarely fails. Festoons, limit switches, brakes and pendants do, and against the cost of a crane not running they are inexpensive things to hold.

Replace like for duty, not like for looks

A limit switch or a brake has a duty rating behind it. Matching the appearance of the part that came off is not the same as matching what it was doing.

Questions buyers ask about this

Do you erect tower cranes as well as supply parts?

Yes. Erection, climbing and dismantling are work we carry out, coordinated around the site programme. Parts supply covers overhead travelling cranes alongside it.

Which EOT crane parts do you hold?

Festoon systems, pendants, brakes, limit switches and hook blocks are the regular lines. Those are the parts that fail, which is exactly why they are the ones worth holding.

Can you identify a part from the crane itself?

Usually. A photograph of the nameplate and of the part in place is normally enough to start, and we will say plainly if we need more than that.
